Bellvine Seeds Blue/White/Green Thompson & Morgan
Thompson & Morgan
The Butterfly Pea makes an exotic and unusual houseplant. This fast-growing tropical climber makes an eye-catching display in the conservatory, where large blue flowers with white throats appear among the lush green foliage in summer. Grow this, tender perennial over an obelisk as a focal point in the conservatory or outdoors on the patio.Lightly scarify seed before sowing. Sow seed on the surface of a free-draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a layer of compost or vermiculite, 6mm (1/8in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination which takes 14-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart. Please note: some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.Product specifications:Position: Full Sun Height: Up to 180cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Butterfly Pea seed packet (approx. 8 seeds)Flowering period – July to SeptemberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
