This wine is made from Cabernet Franc, more commonly found in Bordeaux, and, much like fine Bordeaux, is matured slowly. Gently fragrant on the nose, it shows more expression on the palate where the flavours of blackberry and black plum are underpinned by attractive tobacco notes. As the wine breathes, it reveals great fruit intensity and the aromas of maquis that are so distinctive to the Léoube vineyard. Structured and classically proportioned, this is a ¿vin de garde¿ that could easily develop for a further 5 to 10 years.
